Recipe | Spaghetti alla puttanesca

4 tablespoons of virgin olive oil
1 small chopped yellow onion
2 thinly sliced garlic cloves
1 small red chili (seeded and sliced)
6 chopped anchovy fillets
1 can of crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp of oregano
100 g peeled black olives
1 tbsp capers
400 g of spaghetti

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot and add the onion, garlic and chilli. Fry gently for about 6 minutes until the onion is soft.
  2. Add the anchovy fillets and stir-fry until all the ingredients are mixed.
  3. Add tomato paste, oregano, olives and capers. Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and let the sauce boil slowly.
  5. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente.
  6. Drain the pasta and mix it into the sauce.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
